Dino Perakis, Esq.
Sarasota Criminal Defense Attorney
Dino is an energetic attorney who happens to love the law and giving back to the community. He gets excited about litigation and trials the way normal people get about Christmas morning. Dino’s mantra, as quoted in the NewsJournal, is simple: “anything can be accomplished by doing the right thing, one step at a time.” What he applies equally to everything is immense dedication and a capacity for hard work that scares even us. Whether its surfing, wakeboarding, memorizing law, or chess, Dino portrays natural talents to perform greatly and learn quickly – except tennis. And it’s amusing to all of us, even Dino. Dino spent a year in Seoul, Korea teaching English and worked as a political analyst. During law school not only did he land an internship in Washington, D.C. (where he gained Supreme Court litigation experience), he also clerked in federal court and was published in his law school’s business web-magazine. As if that wasn’t enough on his plate, he managed to find time to “surf as much as possible” while simultaneously advocating on the #1 Moot Court Appellate Team in the United States.
Dino set out to prove its possible to work full time, continue to study his passion, and provide service to others, all simultaneously, while still knowing more about US & European politics and hiphop than most of us combined.
Before joining our family at FLG, Dino practiced commercial litigation and worked as a prosecutor. He prosecuted cases in Daytona Beach, Bradenton, and Sarasota, ranging from misdemeanor DUI to violent felony crimes, and volunteered to help give guidance to the youth and served in numerous local organizations. It is no surprise that within six months of moving to Sarasota, his hard work resulted in becoming SRQ Magazine’s Top 30 Under 30, and numerous other appearances and interviews.
At FLG, Dino practices criminal defense and commercial litigation, as well as staying active in the community. It is no secret - Dino loves Sarasota. In addition to practicing law, he continues to volunteer in Sarasota and Manatee Teen Court, works as an auxiliary member with nonprofits such as SRQ Vets, an organization dedicated to providing outlets for our local veterans when they return home. Maybe he never actually sleeps. We don’t really know. One thing is certain, Dino genuinely cares for each one of our clients, and says that his most proud accomplishment is his strong relationship with his family.
